Mirror Lake

August 14-16 we spent up in the Uinta Mountains with family. We had a marvelous time. We were lucky not to have any rain this year although it was quite cold in the evenings and mornings. Saturday morning was the coldest at 29 degrees. Luckily it didn't feel that cold in the tent under the sleeping bags.

Many of us enjoyed the time spent fishing, canoeing, walking around the lake, and talking around the camp fire. The guys caught a total of 17 fish while we were there. The trout was great, and it was a good thing we caught so much since I forgot the ground beef for the sloppy joes we were suppose to have for lunch on Saturday.

We only had one accident while we were there and that was when Daniel fell and hit his head on a rock. He got quite a "goose-egg", but didn't have any bleeding since he didn't break the skin. Although I'm sure there would have been a good amount of blood if the skin did break since you could see the blood under his skin.

The boys loved running around the camp and playing with their fishing poles. Tyler especially loved to cast his pole. He would cast it everywhere. Even inside the tent. Luckily they didn't want to really fish. So, Nathan just put "bubbles" on the end so they would still feel like the big boys.

Daniel, Tyler, and their cousin, Brayden, especially loved playing with their whistles, harmonicas and kazoos that Grandpa got them. They really loved to wake up their Aunt Buffy and Uncle Chad with them in the morning. And they really loved that!

Daniel the pyro really loved to burn things.

We came home on Saturday evening, and Grandpa too, while everyone else stayed another night. We were glad to come home and sleep in our nice, comfy, warm beds. But we had a great time. And look forward to next year, which will be even more exciting with the two new babies.

Looks like fun! We are leaving for a camping trip today. We missed you yesterday. Also, are you thinking of having Daniel do soccer again? I would like to sign-up both of my boys and was wondering if you were interested in being on the same team:)
