Double Trouble

How many of us have ever left our children unsupervised even for just a few minutes? And I mean just unsupervised in the other room, or downstairs? Or while you are folding laundry or on the computer? Well, I have made that mistake now 2 days in a row. And I never thought my boys could or would get into so much trouble. I really thought they were good kids. But they are trouble, Double Trouble.

Yesterday while I was putting Cassie (my friends Steph's little girl that I watch twice a week) to a nap downstairs, I came upstairs to find that Daniel and Tyler had taken scissors out of the drawer and had proceeded to cut up some of my sheet music. Shocked! To say the least, especially since Daniel did it last week and we told him he was "...grounded from scissors for one week!" I thought he understood. Maybe I was expecting to much from a 3 year old. After they both sat in time out and I placed all the scissors on top of the fridge (like that will keep them away) Daniel and I had a little talk. It was a nice talk, especially when he said, "...like Jesus, when he died on the cross?" I'm not sure what he meant, but I said that I forgive him and so does Jesus.

So, this morning after the boys and I did some work in the backyard, I came in and sat on my bed and rested and watched the news while the boys played. I just needed a little rest. Well, probably 20-30 minutes later, I came out into the living room and ...."Time out!!!" That was the first thing I said to Daniel. What would your reaction be if you found that you children had taken paint markers out of the drawer, where you thought they were out of reach way in the back, and had drawn all over their hands, bellies, wall, the fireplace, and the mantle? I couldn't believe they would do something that they knew was so wrong! I asked Daniel why he did it, and the only thing he said was "I wanted to paint the walls." All I said to him was, "But that is not paper. That is wrong." And both him and Ty went to time out without their blankie/wabee because their hands were black and I didn't want them to get them dirty. They cleaned it up well. They were pretty good about helping, but I'm not sure that the paint is going to come all the way out. The walls still look a little stained. Ah, well, at least I have an excuse to paint the living room now.

Had you not taken pics of the mess, I wouldn't have known it was that drastic!

Oh my golly. What a doozy of a mess! Rachel would say, "Sometimes my brain doesn't work" if I caught her doing such a thing. Indeed.

Welcome to blogging! I found you through my sitemeter - I'd suggest installing it. It's fun to see who pops over to visit. Plus it's free : ).
