This is our new friend. And look at the mess he is making in our back yard. The kids think he is great! At least he isn't trying to put a hole in my house this year. (His hole is about the size of my fist.) We haven't figured out yet if he is trying to make a house or just a place to store things. I don't dare check for fear that he might peck at me.

What a mess! Yes, hopefully he doesn't start pecking at your house.
Woodpeckers have always liked pecking at our house because of the wooden siding. I'm grateful that this one has decided that he likes our tree stump better. Maybe he'll help keep the bugs under control. I hope he likes eating yellow jackets :)
