S.M.A.R.T.

In an attempt to make some good new years resolutions this year, I am making some SMART goals. I'm not always good at keeping my goals because I get frusturated, but I found a really good article in the Deseret News yesterday about SMART goals.

S-specific
M- Measurable
A-Achievable
R-Relevant
T-time bound

So I tried to make my goals more specific this year and follow the guidelines. Most don't follow the "time bound" part, but I wasn't sure how to implement that in my goals.

1- A clean home before I go to bed at least 3 times a week.
2-Shred all my bills and junk at least once a month so they don't pile up and make a mess.
3-Make and order photo books one for each of the boys, birth through 2 years. And one family book, before baby comes. (I'm terrible at getting my pictures printed, and I've seen some nice photo books online that you can just upload pictures to, and then I don't get so carried away printing hundreds of photos that never get into a photo album.)
4-Write in my journal at least once a month.
5- Try not to yell at my kids more than 3 times a week. (I've been doing very well at not yelling at my kids lately and being very patient with them, and it makes our home a much nicer place to be, because I don't like being that person. )
6-Exercise for 30 minutes a day at least twice a week.
7- Read my scriptures for 20 minutes at least 2 times a week.
8-Make more time for my children by spending at least 30 minutes with them alone once a week. (Tyler especially thrives on this one on one time.)

Inspiring! I need to make a few SMART goals myself...I think the one-on-one time is a crucial one. Thanks for sharing your goals and good ideas!

i really like your goals. they inspired me to do some of the same. I tend to set goals that are way over the top. these are practical :) if you are looking for a good digital photo book site I like mixbook.com i've found it the least expensive and they give you more options than most. you can also download blurb on your computer. i know that carly uses that one and she's made some awesome books. (and it's free!)
